Terms of Service
Effective September 3, 2026. These Terms govern the Trevo platform: the dashboard, the GitHub App, the SDKs, the site scanner, and everything they touch. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle data.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Trevo Labs, Inc. (“Trevo”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Trevo websites, dashboard, APIs, SDKs, GitHub App, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, connecting a repository, installing an SDK, requesting a scan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and “you” means the company.
2. What the Service does
Trevo is an experimentation platform. It analyzes the websites and code repositories you connect, proposes A/B experiments grounded in that analysis, writes variant code as pull requests on branches in your repository for your review, serves experiment assignment through SDKs you install, collects the experiment events you send, and computes always-valid sequential statistics on the results. Parts of this analysis and code generation are performed by large language models. The Service prepares work for your review — it does not merge pull requests or deploy code, and what ships to your users is always your decision.
3. Accounts and workspaces
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Workspaces may have multiple members with different roles, and workspace owners and admins control membership, connected repositories, API keys, and experiment approvals. Anything done by a member within a workspace is attributed to that workspace. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
4. Repository access
When you install the Trevo GitHub App on a repository, you grant us permission to read that repository’s contents and to write to branches prefixed trevo/ in order to open pull requests. You are responsible for having the rights to grant that access — including where the repository contains third-party or open-source code — and for your own branch-protection and review settings. You can revoke access at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App or disconnecting the repository, after which we stop reading the repository and stop opening new pull requests.
5. Your code and content
As between you and Trevo, you own your repositories, your websites, and the data you send to the Service (“Customer Content”). You grant us a limited license to access, copy, snapshot, and process Customer Content solely to provide, secure, and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. Code that Trevo writes into your repository — variant implementations, setup changes, cleanup commits — is yours: to the extent we hold any rights in it, we assign them to you when it is delivered to your repository. We do not use your repository contents or your event data to train machine-learning models.
6. Event data and your end users
The SDKs send us experiment exposure and conversion events about the users of your product, under identifiers you choose. For that data you are the data controller and we act as your processor. You are responsible for your own privacy notices, for any consent your users’ jurisdictions require for A/B testing and analytics, and for not sending us data you are not permitted to share — in particular, do not send special-category personal data, payment card numbers, or government identifiers in event properties. 7. Site scans
The free scan crawls publicly reachable pages of a domain you submit and emails a report after you verify the address. Only request a scan of a domain you own or are authorized to have analyzed. We may rate-limit, block, or decline scans at our discretion, and scan reports are provided for your evaluation of the Service.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service to violate any law or third-party right; probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or circumvent its rate limits, quotas, or authentication; resell or provide the Service to third parties as a service bureau; misrepresent experiment results generated by the Service as independent third-party findings; use the Service to run experiments that are deceptive or unlawful toward your own users; or interfere with other customers’ use of the Service. We may suspend accounts that put the Service or other customers at risk.
9. Plans, billing, and trials
Paid features are sold in plans described at the time of purchase; the prices, quotas, and included usage shown there are part of your order. Fees are billed to the payment method on file, are exclusive of taxes, and except where required by law are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. We may change plan pricing with notice, effective on your next renewal. If a promotional term (for example a free first pull request) is offered, its conditions are stated where it is offered.
10. AI-generated output
Experiment proposals, variant code, and reports are generated in substantial part by machine-learning systems working from your repository and site. They can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your codebase despite our grounding checks. You are responsible for reviewing every pull request before merging it and for testing changes to the same standard as any other code change. Statistical results describe observed data; they are not a promise that a variant will perform in the future, and Trevo does not guarantee any particular lift, revenue, or business outcome.
11. Third-party services
The Service interoperates with third-party services you choose to connect, such as GitHub and analytics providers, and relies on infrastructure and model providers to operate. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
12. Our intellectual property; feedback
The Service itself — the platform, SDKs, models’ orchestration, statistics engine, documentation, and branding — is owned by Trevo and its licensors, and no rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms. The SDKs are provided under the license that accompanies them. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
13. Publicity
Once you have merged your first experiment pull request from Trevo — on any plan, including the free tier — you grant Trevo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your name and logo to identify you as a Trevo customer — on our website, in customer lists, and in marketing and sales materials — without needing to ask each time, and subject to any trademark-use guidelines you give us. We will honor a request to stop, sent to hello@trevosdk.com, on a going-forward basis, though we may not be able to recall materials already printed or distributed. This section does not license any other use of your marks.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service for material breach of these Terms that is not cured within 14 days of notice, for non-payment, or where required by law, and may discontinue the free scan or free tiers with reasonable notice. On termination your access ends; code already delivered to your repositories remains yours, and the Privacy Policy describes what happens to stored data. Sections 5, 6, and 10 through 18 survive termination.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated code or statistics will be accurate or reliable.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, and our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD 100 if you have paid nothing). These limits do not apply to your payment obligations, either party’s indemnification obligations, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
17. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Trevo against third-party claims arising from your Customer Content, your products, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or experiments you choose to ship to your users. We will defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that the Service, as provided by us and used as permitted, infringes their intellectual-property rights, except to the extent the claim arises from your Customer Content or from combinations we did not supply.
18. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflicts rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, which both parties consent to. We may update these Terms; if a change is material we will give notice (for example by email or in the dashboard) at least 14 days before it takes effect, and your continued use after that date is acceptance. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms, your orders, and any DPA are the entire agreement about the Service. Questions: hello@trevosdk.com.
